You should first create a Azure Virtual Machine within the Azure portal.

The "Subscription" and "Resource group" project details are up to your discretion. We recommend creating a new Resource Group for Tembo.

Please fill out "Instance Details" approparitely.

The Virtual machine name can be something like "tembo-1" or "tembo-engineering-1", however you see fit.

You may pick your Region and Availability Zone.

Security type - Standard
- This is very important otherwise the Virtual Machine will not boot.
- Do not worry, your deployment is secure.

Image - Select "See all images"
- Select "Community Images"
- Search for "tembo"
- Select "base-nixos"

Size - Select the size of your deployment discussed with the Tembo team.

You may leave the other settings as default.

Click on "Next: Networking"
- Configure the appropriate Virtual Network and Subnet for your deployment.
- Public IP can be set to none.
- All inbound ports may be disabled.

Using the Azure Load Balancer
- If using the Azure load balancer, please select "Application gateway" as the "Load balancing options".
- Continue to "Review + create"
- Review the settings and create the VM.
- You will be prompted to download a keypair, please accept the download to continue.
- Once the VM is created, if Tembo is managing your install, you are completed.
- Please reach out to the Tembo team for the rest of the installation process.
- Once the VM is created, you can navigate to the IP address of the Virtual Machine.
- You will be presented with the Tembo web installer.
- Please follow the instructions to complete the installation.
