This is an addition to the existing Makefile build system and is not intended to replace it. The CMake configuration is set up to prevent running cmake in the project root directory to avoid overwriting the original Makefile.
This resolves the issue where the previous method using `get_property` would erroneously trigger an error when executing `cmake -B /path/to/dir`.
